A Tech-Driven Mandate for South Africa

Cultivating human and digital assets for the next generation.

We leapfrog outdated systems and harness the Fourth Industrial Revolution to turn South Africa's demographic challenge into its greatest economic resource — where every individual has the technology, capacity and dignity to thrive.

Our Mission

Beyond temporary relief — toward lasting transformation.

The fundamental challenge of our era is not merely the presence of poverty, but the widening gap between traditional aid and the requirements of a rapidly evolving digital world.

At the Gift Foundation, we address this through a tech-driven mandate that moves beyond temporary relief toward the cultivation of human and digital assets. Our vision is to create a globally competitive, inclusive economy where every individual has the technological capability and production capacity to drive national growth.

While our mission is global in scope, our immediate focus is South Africa — where over 5.8 million young people are currently unemployed and the youth jobless rate sits at approximately 57%.

Mpho Dagada

Commissioner, 4IR Committee — South African Presidency

Driving a national strategy that positions South African youth at the forefront of the Fourth Industrial Revolution — through enterprise, technology and education.

"Turning a demographic challenge into our greatest economic resource."
Four Strategic Pillars

Our 2030 framework for systemic change.

Each pillar is engineered to compound — building capability, opportunity and dignity across generations.

01

Micro-Entrepreneurial Accelerator

Small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) are the backbone of South Africa's economy — contributing 34–40% of GDP. Our free accelerator scales informal businesses through mentorship, financial literacy and digital transformation.

  • Strategic 1:1 mentorship
  • Financial literacy & digital tools
  • Shift toward SMME-led job creation
02

Tech Incubation & STEM Hubs

We establish Youth Innovation Hubs in informal communities — giving children early, hands-on exposure to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics so the next generation builds, not just consumes, technology.

  • Robotics & coding fundamentals
  • Technical problem-solving
  • Pathways into engineering careers
03

Holistic Child Welfare

We provide extensive, ongoing support to the Nelson Mandela Children's Home and the Johannesburg Children's Home — delivering mentorship, nutrition, school resources and access to healthcare.

  • Daily essentials & school supplies
  • Mentorship & emotional support
  • Healthcare access
04

Career Readiness & AI Literacy

We bridge tertiary education and the workplace — focusing on the stackable, modern competencies the global creative economy demands.

  • Multimedia: graphic design, social, video
  • AI literacy & automated workflows
  • Soft skills, communication, leadership

Impact On the Ground

Real homes. Real children. Real futures.

Our work is grounded in long-term relationships with the homes and communities we serve. Every visit, every meal, every coding class is one more thread woven into a child's future.

We measure success not in transactions, but in transformations — the child who becomes the coder, the coder who becomes the entrepreneur, the entrepreneur who comes home and lifts the next.
